Michael L. Christian, Ed.D.Superintendent of Schools The start of a new school year provides each child with new opportunities for growth. While standardized tests and the resulting data are a necessary facet of education, student growth should be measured through a variety of assessments. Throughout this year, our students will achieve not only in the academic arena but also in the arts, music and on the athletic fields. I want to encourage students to immerse themselves into the Owen J Roberts curricular and extra-curricular opportunities. They have an excellent opportunity to develop socially, emotionally, and academically. School districts cannot be successful without excellent relationships. With a strong partnership among our schools, home, and community, our students will be inspired to succeed. When I visited OJR schools this past spring, the pride in the school district was palpable among the students and staff. We will maintain a culture of excellence in all of our endeavors. Whether your child is entering school for the very first time as a kindergarten student or his/her final year as a high school senior, it is our goal to meet the needs of all learners.
